Better Performance Improved Drivability

Get the most from your car in terms of performance and economy.
Improve your overall driving experience and save money on your fuel costs
over the months and years.

Reduced Fuel Consumption
Better Towing

By careful recalibration of the engine management system,
we can lower the fuel consumption with no detriment to reliability.
Most vehicles gain around 40 BHP and extra 60nm of torque & saving of up to 20% on fuel.

ECU remapping is a proven way to improve and upgrade the engine maps to unlock the hidden power and economy in your vehicle, where EGR delete, DPF delete could be an alternative in order to keep you vehicle in good working condition.

ECU Remapping

Remapping a car changes the manufacturer’s default settings and software on the ECU, replacing it with new software which can be tweaked and customised to the owner’s specifications (within legal limitations).

When a vehicle is remapped, the old ECU software is overwritten when the customized software is plugged in to the car’s  OBD port. This simple functionality has made the process of tuning a vehicle considerably easier, however it is not possible to be applied in all of the cases.

As mentioned above, remapping allows you to alter the performance of your vehicle by altering how the engine drives the car, however, it’s how the driver chooses to use the tuned car that ultimately decides what effects the tuning will have.

Remapping a vehicle can also have an immediate effect on speed and power; in some cases, remappers claim to have increased horsepower by 30-40BHP, and torque up to 80NM!

A car’s engine can also become more responsive, allowing the driver to overtake more easily. This can also cut down on the number of gear changes the driver has to make, allowing them to handle situations that require more torque without dropping down to lower gears. Again, this can help boost fuel economy if used strategically.

EGR Solution

Modern engines recirculate some of their exhaust gases back into the engine with the aim of reducing emissions. This is the is the main benefit of the Exhaust Gas Recirculation system. The downside is that exhaust fumes containing carbon deposits are constantly being recirculated through the engine through time causing a build-up of carbon deposits in the intake manifold etc.

These deposits sometimes contribute to the failure of the EGR system itself. Replacement EGR valves can be expensive and in the case of high mileage engines the continual carbon build up can eventually lead to total engine failure.

Removal of the EGR system by Blanking off the exhaust input and reprogramming of the engine management ECU results in lowered engine temperatures, improved throttle response and economy and also can lengthen engine life by reducing oil contamination and carbon deposits.

DPF Removal

Located within the exhaust system, a Diesel Particulate Filter captures small soot particles, preventing them from being expelled into the atmosphere. As with any filter it needs emptying periodically and this is done automatically, by burning up the particulates in a process called 'Regeneration'.Unfortunately, the DPF needs high temperatures to regenerate, low mileage stop-start motoring can cause them to block. if the DPF got clogged, an option to consider is to simply remove it.

Once the physical filter has been removed, the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) has to be reprogrammed (Remapped) and any DPF related structures removed from the vehicles software. This will prevent the vehicle from sensing the missing filter and will prevent future DPF regeneration and warning lights.

Removing the DPF from your vehicle is not only a cost effective solution but it also boasts the following advantages:

  • Increased performance
  • Increased efficiency (MPG)
  • Less turbo lag
  • Reduced maintenance costs

* Our DPF Removal service is sold for off-road use only. Removal of a DPF will almost invariably make your vehicle illegal for use on a public road. This is not legal advice and if you are unsure if this applies to your vehicle, please seek further advice.

DTC Removal

Permanently removing fault codes from the engine management system is a very useful process when modifying a vehicle.

Removing components such as swirl flaps, EGR valves, customized modules for purpose of performance modification or Motorsport, will often cause a fault code to be stored in the ECU memory along with lights on the dash and 'Limp Home' mode.

By recoding the ECU data and permanently removing the specific fault code we can prevent the dash lights from being displayed and prevent the vehicle from entering in 'Limp Home' mode.

We endeavor to remove most of the DTC codes or also known as OBD codes from Engine Control Units (ECU) in a process involving reading the ECU files, deleting the fault code from the ECU fault code system and then writing the new files back to the ECU. Please note that we do this using dedicated tools and software engineering; we don’t clean the fault code with a diagnostic tool. By following our approach, we guarantee that the error will not come back come back.

Other Remaps

A vehicle remap replaces default software on the ECU, overwriting it with new software which can be programmed to optimize the cars overall performance. additionally it can bring to life hidden feature or hide them for your convenience. This is known as vehicle remapping because the ECU is essentially a program that controls how the engine works. When your car is remapped, the tuned software is plugged into your cars serial port (or OBD port) which then overwrites the engine map with the new version to enhance engine performance. The ability to flash directly through the OBD has brought the tuning industry on leaps and bounds, with constant development on the engine now being much quicker via the flash process; it has enabled Remap Auto Tuning to develop some of the best software you can upload in your car.

  • Hot Start Fix
  • Hard Cut Limiter
  • Start/Stop Disable
  • Launch Control
  • Swirl Flap Removal
  • Speed Limiter Removal
  • Lambda/O2 Delete
  • MAF Delete (MAF to MAP switch)

Vehicles with an ECU or Engine Control Unit can be tuned to give impressive power, torque and in the right circumstances (generally when combined with an upgraded intercooler) even economy gains.

Using some of the latest software, we develop tuning files to suit standard and heavily modified vehicles, whether for day to day driving, towing or full-on competition use.

Each vehicle is tuned individually to take into account the many factors that need to be considered when remapping and chipping. Please use the enquiry form if you require further information. We look forward to hearing from you.
